FM40 - New Finds

I had the luxury of having a look around the shops on Wednesday, alone no kids, just me..... bliss! Two hours of my day would be taken up in the hairdressers, as I was getting my hair coloured and I wanted to fit in a major jeans try on session in Topshop, plus a look around all my high street favourites; Whistles, Reiss, Jigsaw and French Connection. Time was due to run away, before I knew I would have to get back for school run, thankfully John Lewis is so convenient having all my high street favourites under one roof, I perused most things I wanted to see in there.

I had recently spotted a pair of Mint Velvet shoes in a magazine that I really loved (number 6) and I thought I would have a look at their collection in more detail. Mint Velvet is not a brand that is normally on my radar, I know a few of my blogging colleagues are big fans.

I have a serious weakness for white lacy tops and they had more than a few I liked,

Number 1 I have to say was my favourite, I thought it had a very Ba&sh feel about it, I took a picture of the top for you, so you could see the lovely detail. This top would look so cool worn with a leather biker jacket over it, to clash with its femininity and then styled with their Rockstud inspired flats (here).

Are you a fan of Mint Velvet?

As ever thank you for reading and all your comments, I really enjoy reading them.

Have a wonderful weekend, weather permitting!!

Annmarie

  3. I have that top and I love it. I styled it with grey wool crop trousers from Gap and two tone grey shoes I have had for ages from Next and I have to say I got stopped by four random strangers and asked where I bought the top. Eat your heart out Isabel Marant! They also have some fab looking grey trainer style shoes on there website (more of a grown-up style than the stans for my liking, but because I live in Dublin there shoe collection isn't stocked here but the full clothing and handbag collection is (frustrating). They also have a lovely bicolour flat suede sandal that looks gorgeous but again I'm thwarted. Did you find any goody jeans in Topshop you'd likt to share with us Liz

  4. I love all of those tops, so pretty. I just wondered how you got on with jeans? I'm always on the lookout for good recommendations on Jeans, they seem to me to be the hardest thing to buy!

    1. I love Topshop jeans, I have many designer jeans, but I always favour my Topshop jeans. I love and have Jamie skinny jeans, which are amazing. I tried a few other styles on, my reviews will be on the blog next week. X

  5. I am not usually a big Mint Velvet fan but I love that first top so will investigate. I am due a jeans trying on session in Zara (after the great success of their grey jeans with zips) but ugh ugh ugh the thought of all that wriggling in and out of skinny denim while catching glimpses of my pallid winter legs and socks is soooo unappealing! Will look forward to hearing how you got on in Topshop. Annabelx

    1. Yes, still loving my grey jeans from Zara. I did try on a few pairs in there too, they have some great distressed jeans in there at the moment, but I have severe muffin top with the Christmas excess pounds. I am going back to try on when I have lost a few pounds. My topshop reviews will be on the blog this week hopefully. X

  10. As soon as my daughters see tops like these they always say "oh mum this is so you" as I have a penchant for lacey/ broderie anglais tops also. I don't buy much from Mint Velvet if I'm honest but have a lovely ivory bell sleeved top from winter 2013 which I adore x

    1. I really like 1 - but the shirt number 8 would look amazing in the summer with denim shorts. I am going to take more notice of mint velvet now Sharron. X

  11. I must admit as soon as i enter House of Fraser, Mint Velvet is my first stop. I have a leather pencil skirt of theirs that comes out year after year and still looks great and always manage to get some extra nice pieces for my holidays there that look lovely dresssed up or down for day or night, and for any summer events we have lined up. Love your choices Annmarie. think the shoes will be on my wishlist as the real rockstuds are not going to feature in my clothes budget this year. x

    1. The shoes are great, the two tone, the studs on the strap, great affortable alternative to the out of reach rockstuds! X
