FM40 Style - Leather Jacket

Jacket, Isabel Marant Etoile / Jeans, Zara / Bag & Boots, Russell & Bromley / Scarf, M&S / Top, Jaeger Boutique

I have a leather jacket .... yeah and it is the one that has been on my wish list for 3 years, an Isabel Marant Etoile one...... yeah (she says, doing a little hop, skip and jump) you may remember I had this jacket on my many winter sale edits, as it was reduced from £700 to £350. I had spent all my monies on Christmas and my other little sale buys and I didn't have enough in my kitty, so what did I do? I had a major eBay clear out, however, by the time all my items sold and the monies were raised, the jacket was then sold out on most sites ........ NO!! So, I turned to Vestiaire Collective, the marketplace for pre-owned designer items. Vestiaire Collective is unique environment were all items are authenticated and checked before reaching the buyer, thereby eradicating the risks of buying counterfeits or mis-described items.

My jacket was described by the seller in France as in brand new condition (only worn once) with original dust bag and tags. My jacket arrived in perfect condition by courier, beautifully wrapped, together with the quality and authenticity checklist tags.

I am now considering using Vestiaire Collective as a platform to sell my unwanted designer items in the future and they have provided me with a nice little bag with the tools to do so, including a cute new tape measure.

Check out Vestiaire Collective, they have many wonderful pieces of pre-owned (a much nicer phase than secondhand, don't you think) Isabel Marant, Valentino Rockstuds (that may be one thing I may not purchase, shoes... I am not sure about wearing pre-owned shoes) and many Chanel handbags.

Have you heard of Vestiaire Collective? Have you ever purchased from them?

Annmarie

  1. I recently stumbled upon their site and an in love with it having managed to bag a Chanel rose pink handbag for relatively peanuts due to a dipped exchange rate. I'm now moving to sell my decent pieces on there from ebay. The Jacket is an absolute stunner.. good find xx

    1. I know the euro to the pound is fab at the moment, all in our favour when buying from sellers in France. Your bag sound divine! x

  3. It looks absolutely gorgeous on you....good things come to those who wait! And I like the term 'pre-loved', personally! I haven't tried Vestiare yet but must give it a go. Have got shopping paralysis at the moment, have sold lots of stuff on ebay and raised a little bit of money but am not quite sure what to buy, what with the changing of the seasons etc. Have a fab weekend, Annabelxxx

    1. Yes Annabel, pre-loved is far nicer than pre-owned, I will use that from now on. Vestiaire has lots of Isabel Marant, I have a few searches saved for things I would love to pop up .... like the bloom crochet tunic from last year. Oh if I was you I would have spent that money (burns a hole in my pocket) I bet you will buy wisely and beautifully when something catches your eye. Enjoy your weekend x

    2. Hi again Annmarie. Just wondering about the sizing on this - how does it compare to the Glenn jacket? Axx

    3. Hi I say it is a little more generous than the Glenn which is slim fitting. I got the 40 in both, but the leather jacket I feels a touch more generous in size. X

  5. Lovely jacket, well done for searching it out and coming up trumps. Sometimes it pays to be patient! I have a very old cropped quilted leather collarless jacket from Zara - I love it as it's so flattering and simple and can be worn smart or casual. I am sure you'll find yours very useful. Not yet used the site - what's their reruns policy? I try to avoid buying online as I end up returning three quarters of it due to the fit not being right.

  7. Gorgeous Jacket Annmarie ....well worth the wait! I have used Vestiaire before and found their service to be excellent, although I didn't end up making a purchase as the seller had been less than honest about the condition of the item, however as they give every item the once over, if it does not match the description they will tell you so. A lot more trustworthy than eBay where you never quite know what to expect! xx

  12. Looks amazing on you, Annmarie. It's also remarkably warm. I remember one snowy winter day where all I had on was a long sleeved t-shirt, this leather jacket and a cashmere shawl. I love how you style it. Perfection!
