FM40 STYLE | YOUR AUTUMN/WINTER CAPSULE WARDROBE - PART 4

T H E  M U S T  H A V E  I T E M

One 'must have' piece of clothing has to be  .... a black pair of pants or trousers whichever you wish to call them .... I am a pants girl myself.

My black pants needed a refresh ..... my old pair from Banana Republic had served me very well more than a few years and were on their last legs ...literally! Anyway, while I was shopping last week I thought I would try to find a new pair as come A/W black pants are a hard-working piece of clothing in my wardrobe.

I like to wear them with flats like above, with trainers

and ankle boots

My budget was a high street budget, so I headed straight to Zara for a try on and I ended up buying these. I was initially looking for a cropped pair, but I liked the fit of this pair and I am just going to get them shortened slightly.

Black pants are so versatile, they can take you from the school gate, to the boardroom and then for cocktails with ease .... just with a change of shoe.

SHOP BLACK TROUSER EDIT

I am hoping my new trousers will be ready for Friday to wear with my Isabel Marant black leather jacket and leopard heels for L's and my birthday tea out, I am going to try to emulate this look below.

  1. I love black pants and own at least 8 pairs. I work in a semi-formal office environment which makes it hard to pull off the editor look with destroyed denim :) I have to wool ones from Hugo Boss and several models from Boden which are really great, too. I try to pair them with Isabel Marant jackets and H&M regularly do Isabel Marant like blazers with shirred sleeves for a bit of Parisian vibe.

    1. If I worked in an office your look sounds exactly like what I would try and pull off . xxx
