FM40 STYLE | SPRING CAPSULE WARDROBE (French Style) PART FIVE

T R A I N E R S

Every capsule wardrobe needs a pair of white trainers. Trainers are the item of footwear I wear the most, being a full-time mum, who works mostly from home, doing the school run and the supermarket shop  ..... I don't really need to wear anything else .... in fact I rarely want to wear anything else and that comes from a self-confessed shoeaholic!

Last August, I purchased a pair of Golden Goose trainers for £300 ..... £300 for a pair of trainers?! Yes, that was my thought too, but I have literally worn them every day since buying them, so as they say cost per wear they have been worth it. I just adore them, they are like slippers and the little inside wedge is very welcome to enhance my short frame. I love their understated style and the fact they aren't bright white and most importantly they fit perfectly with the French style of dressing I love.

SHOP GOLDEN GOOSE

I know many of you love them too, but cannot stretch to their price. So, what Golden Goose inspired trainers are out there with a lower price tag? Well you have Dune's Edris trainers or Russell & Bromley's BigStar trainers  for star...ters 😉

Russell & Bromley have a fabulous selection of trainers and you may have seen me recently wearing their Wildside trainers they kindly sent me.

They are full off Gucci vibes and are a great alternative if you can't quite stretch to Gucci prices and are available here. They are made from butter soft leather and run true to size.

Saint Laurent cannot put a foot wrong at the moment in my eyes and their trainers are simply fabulous and if I had a spare £425 I would purchase these.

SHOP SAINT LAURENT TRAINERS

Again, there are high street homages of these and these from Next are a great option for £35 or Hush's version that are slightly more luxurious, but nowhere near the YSL price. Or, you could go for Boden's polka dot trainers

There seems to be a new 'IT' trainer each season ..... the newest 'IT' trainer is Veja and the best thing about Veja is that they are really affordable. I love the ministalist look of Veja trainers and that they are ethically made. My favourite style is the Esplar which is the low rise style.

A Little Tip From Me : These are selling out fast and I think there will be a big price rise soon (they already have .... slightly) so if you are tempted don't delay.

I still kick myself I never purchased Chanel's two tone sling backs when they were a palatable £350 compared to todays price of £600.

SHOP VEJA TRAINERS

What other brands do I like? Well, it goes without saying Isabel Marant trainers are fabulous and Kurt Geiger are a great place to check out on the high street. So, let's look at the best of the rest ....

We have Valentino inspired from Asos and Next. Gucci inspired here and classic white leather Converse

SHOP MY OTHER FAVOURITE TRAINERS

My final tip is that if you can't afford designer trainers and don't want to do high street homages ... just stick to classic white leather converse or Sugerga and you will not put a foot wrong!
