S U M M E R    N I G H T S

Again I would advise you to pack a few dresses for the evening ....

I tend to keep my holiday evening style quite low key and relaxed, a pretty dress, sandals or my Castaner wedges and raffia clutch is my favourite look.

Simplicity and being low-key is for me what holidays are about.... beach wavy hair, minimal make-up letting your tan and freckles shine. Of course it depends on where you may be holidaying, but all of the dresses in the edits if not overly dressy can be made so with some fabulous accessories. Holiday are certainly the time you can go really over the top with accessories; statement earrings, bangles and bags..... but that will be a whole another post.... I promise.

Back to the dresses ..... I do love a white dress as many of you know and there are many gorgeous ones to choose from.

In my previous post I talked about the merits of packing a coloured co-ordinated holiday wardrobe and the easiest way to do this is to go monochrome and just add flashes of one accent colour. Don't be afraid of black on holiday it can look very summery plus it enhances a tan perfectly. Style it with bright colourful or gold jewellery and it will look amazing on holiday.

I am patiently waiting for the Next little black polka dot dress, which I hope to recreate a cool Realisation Par look with this summer.

I am not adverse to colour and as I have mentioned earlier I pack a few items of one bright colour to complement my monochrome pieces. I find everything then mixes and matches giving lots of outfit options to wear throughout your holiday. This year I think my accent colour will be again coral red, so I can pack my favourite red floral Ba&sh dress.

There are many pretty floral dresses this summer, polka dot and of course the boho trend always looks at home on holiday. The March 11 and Vika Kin dresses are very expensive, so look to Etsy for more affordable prices yet still handmade folk boho dresses. Then again, Mango have two great options this and this.

There are some really beautiful dresses around and I know many on Instagram are going mad for the pretty H&M floral numbers .... I tried this one after seeing it and loving it on Jess on Instagram .... I sized down and I still looked like a 4 year old trying her Mummy's dress on ..... not for the short girls like me. My I add I do like their Ganni like white polka dot wrap dress very much!

If green is going to be your accent colour this one from Zara is lovely as is this blue one and this cute monochrome sundress also.... Zara is having a good summer!

Free People do summer dresses so well and the peach one and blue one from my edit above are just stunning.

I have been shopping my own edit again .... and as I mentioned earlier the Next polka dot wrap is on order (the red longer version is also nice) and I have finally spent my Ebay slush fund and purchased my dress for the summer ..... after a few Ganni fails I opted for what I know best and what suits my body shape and lifestyle.... and got this.
