I mostly go to Marks for nice food bits, kids underwear and socks, their cashmere and a nice pot of tea when I meet my mum for a natter in town (we always share the roast chicken sandwich too, she has a scone and I have an eccles cake ..... tradition). I rarely buy things for myself other than their cashmere jumpers and the odd little gem (like the Balmain look-a-like jacket I have, that's still available here) ..... I find their stores organisation very uninspiring and their website styling was atrocious .... I say was because I see some of their new pieces styled really modern and rather good. Yes!!!! Because Marks is an institution that should always be on our high streets and in our wardrobes.

I had a good peruse last night online and there are more than a few pieces that really appealed. I first spotted this black and white jacket a few weeks back in store on the mannequin when I was buying the kid's school socks.  I thought wow that's nice and would totally look cool styled the Anine Bing way, it comes in this colourway too.  The Tabitha Simmons like lace up boots that Sarah from Little Spree has look fantastic, they would work with either skinny jeans as well as dresses throughout autumn/winter.   I am a lover of their affordable cashmere, it's really soft and of good quality for the price point and most importantly washes really well. My tip with their cashmere is to size up for a more slouchy fit at least one or two sizes. I know a few fashionistas purchase their M&S cashmere from the men's department to get the more modern slouchy look.

Anyway, I could waffle on about things I spotted I think I am just going to show you my edit.

As you can see I picked lots of cashmere and not just your crew and v-necks that breton striped one is gorgeous as is the hoodie, which would be perfect with jeans and trainers on the school run. The camel coat looks very nice and comes in other good capsule colours of navy and grey too, as you can see here

I may just pop that black & white striped cashmere on my autumn/winter wish list.

Oh and I nearly forgot to highlight the fabulous Chanel-esq jacket that would look fab over that striped jumper and jeans for a chic Parisian look.
